Alright, so my birthday was yesterday.
But let's rewind to Sunday. Ollie, Jake and I attended Sunday service, it went great, we had brunch afterwards and it seemed like a great closing to the weekend. Well, Jake as usual had work to take care of, so Ollie and I left to visit my Grand father. Well on the way there, I hit a pot hole. & not just ANY pot hole. This one had an agenda. My glove box came open, my hand must have hit my windshield wipers, Ollie started crying. It was AWFUL. My car made it to my Grandpa's house, but when I arrived, I had a flat tire of course.
So
I think, okay, maybe the bump knocked the air out of my tire. So I wait a
little while, fill it with air, and wait some more. Then I go back out, still
looks good, so I have my brother start it, and then ALL OF THE AIR MAGICALLY STARTS
LEAKING OUT. So I think GREAT. Then I remembered how when I bought my car,
Hyundai insisted I receive this new “gel” inflation thing, instead of a spare.
So I attempt to use this…Well Guess WHAT, doesn’t work. YAY.
Then,
I called Road Side Assistance….the woman tells me, "Unless you have a spare,
there’s nothing we can do." Really lady? When I bought the car, you guys INSISTED I use
the new GEL TECHNOLOGY and not a spare.
Monday
rolls around, I call the Hyundai down the street, filled my tire as much as I could, and by the skin of my teeth made it there before my tire deflated. They had me wait 2 hours…I asked
if they had a rental or something so I could go check on my son, they said I
can take the UMBC shuttle. Are you kidding me? A friend ended up picking me up,
after all of this, I find out I cracked my rim.
Original
Estimate: $745.00
and not ready for pick up until Friday Morning.
Achieved
Estimate after massive amounts of pouty faces to the General Manager: $530.00 and ready for pick
up Monday evening.
The service
center also forgot to tell the mechanics to change my oil and run regular
engine maintenance. AWESOME. So now I’ll have to pay out of pocket when they
had originally included that in the labor.
Tuesday
morning, I woke up at 4:30, had everything ready
to roll at 6:00, was walking out the door and realize, I don’t have my cell
phone. I spent 45 minutes searching, only to find that I put it in my tank top
drawer and closed it, when I was getting dressed, why? Really, why.
Wednesday morning,
Yay it’s my birthday. Oliver must have been SO EXCITED that he woke up at 2:00am
for the first time in months, just to celebrate with me...
We go back to sleep around 3:30am.
I
wake up at 5:00am.
I
get my birthday outfit on, curl my hair, only running a TAD late….
I
go to pick up Ollie out of his chair and realize, there is POOP EVERYWHERE. It
leaked through his clothes, onto the floor portion of the bouncer, and he also
decided he’d like to play with it in his hands…I go to grab him and obviously
judging by my week thus far, I get it in my hair, on my birthday outfit, and
here is the kicker, he must have had my phone during the poop party and it fell
to the floor part of his seat, so he spread his poo with his toes ALL OVER MY
CELL PHONE. He got it so good, it’s still stuck in the crevices.
I
bathe him, change, ruin my make up from crying, and run out of the door...
I
get halfway down the highway and realize, I am on empty. I am so late, I think I can make
it. WELL, lets just say, by the time I got to a gas station, my car was running off fumes.
I did make it to work. Late, but I made it, only to find this sitting on my desk. MADE MY DAY..
So I am qualifying yesterday as the worst Birthday ever, and rescheduling it for Friday :)
Okay, rant is over.
